Angie
This is Angie, Cellal's acupuncturist during the medical trip.
She introduced acupuncture and cupping for pain to the Kanel population, they were very receptive and some even came back the next day to our clinic for more. She trained a nursing student on cupping and left her with the tools as a gift.
After learning more about Angie's practice, both Ourossogui hospital and Kanel dispensary providers were interested in adding integrative health to their patient care. Angie is very gentle and well composed; her sense of style blended well with the Dakar fashion while she continues to keep on giving. She made sure the team is taken care of by packing our drinks for hydration and snacks when going to the clinic. She led relaxation yoga in the morning or at night for the team and also did the same for groups of patients waiting to see us every morning.
She taught teenagers how to manage menstruation related pain through acupressure.
Her skills in Oriental medicine were celebrated in this Northern part of Senegal and have left imprints that will go in the Kanel history books.
Like any of the team members Angie is a go-getter. In less than 24 hrs of planning our last Cellal fundraising event, she was able to find us a beautiful venue that did not cost us a penny and left our guest stunned. Her connections brought us very generous donors to whom we were very grateful . She has hosted many of our meetings and made some of the healthiest and most delicious meals for us.
I really enjoyed this journey with Angie and her beautiful and kindhearted daughter Lucy.
Thank you so much and please extend the thanks to your husband and family for all the support.
